Why Ho Chi Minh City stands out
The Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum document the Vietnam War from the city formerly known as Saigon.
The Cu Chi tunnels, an extensive underground network used during the war, lie within day-trip distance of the city.
Ben Thanh Market has operated as a central trading hub since French colonial times.
The city blends French colonial architecture, like the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, with a fast-growing modern skyline.
